In a world increasingly focused on quality of life, the latest rankings of the best places to live have been released, sparking discussions among urban planners, families, and professionals alike. The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) has unveiled its Global Liveability Index, revealing that Copenhagen, Denmark, has emerged as the top city for livability in 2025. This announcement comes alongside the U.S. News & World Report rankings, which highlight Johns Creek, Georgia, as the best place to live in the United States.

As cities worldwide strive to enhance their appeal, the EIU’s report evaluated 173 cities based on 30 indicators across five categories: stability, healthcare, culture and environment, education, and infrastructure. Copenhagen’s remarkable score of 98 reflects its commitment to sustainability, robust public services, and a high standard of living. Following closely behind are Vienna, Austria, and Zurich, Switzerland, both scoring 97.1.

In the United States, the U.S. News & World Report has ranked Johns Creek, Georgia, as the best place to live, citing its strong job market, excellent schools, and family-friendly environment. The report evaluated over 850 cities, considering factors such as value, desirability, and quality of life. Carmel, Indiana, and Pearland, Texas, secured the second and third spots, respectively, showcasing the diverse options available for those seeking a new home.

Meanwhile, Livability.com has released its own list of the Top 100 Best Places to Live in the U.S., focusing on small to mid-sized cities. This ranking emphasizes the importance of community, amenities, and safety, with cities like Boulder, Colorado, and Naperville, Illinois, making notable appearances.

As the world continues to adapt to changing lifestyles and work environments, a study by Coworking Cafe has identified the best cities for work-life balance in 2025. Minneapolis, Minnesota, has been recognized as the top city for achieving this balance, followed closely by St. Paul, Minnesota. These rankings reflect a growing awareness of mental health and the importance of a supportive community.

With these rankings in hand, families, professionals, and retirees are now more equipped than ever to make informed decisions about where to live, work, and thrive in 2025.
